Passing through Chinatown, your next stop is Wat Po, the temple of the Reclining Buddha, which is the largest and oldest in Bangkok. This evening, dinner is a luxurious river cruise. Relax in modern comfort and dine on a variety of Thai dishes while you slowly cruise along the River of Kings- Chao Phraya River passing the Temple of Dawn (Wat Arun), Grand Palace, and city life along the river as it starts to unwind after a busy day. Fri, Mar 22: A glimpse of everyday life in Thailand can be seen at the Damnoen Saduak Floating Market. An exhilarating narrow, long-tailed speedboat ride through the marshes and stilt houses prepares you for this unique market. Thai style canoes, laden with colorful fruits and vegetables, sweets, and meats gently ply their way through the canal. Remainder of the afternoon is at your leisure. (B)
Sat, Mar 23: Fly to Chiang Mai and check in to your hotel for three nights. This afternoon, cruise along the rural Mae Ping River by long-tail boat where you will see traditional wooden houses along with modern residences and colorful scenery reflecting the lifestyle of the local people. Continue onto Waroros Market and finish the day at Wat Prasinge, which houses a very old and sacred Buddha image. (B)
Sun, Mar 24: Head north of Chiang Mai to visit the Elephant Care Center. In an unspoiled setting, marvel at these magnificent animals in their natural habitat.
